Mezza Mezza: so-so, half and half, in the middle, warp and weft. This cloth is somewhere in between traditional and contemporary, which feels like an exciting place to be. All this work is woven with deep care and practice while insisting on evidence of the impurities of labor and material (because that is true and I simply cannot bare unnecessary preciousness). This is slow, imperfect, beautiful cloth built absurdly, line-by-line.

Anni Araújo Spadafora is an artist who weaves in Toronto. She also keeps one foot in a world that cares about music (and likes to think it shows in the cloth)
